When my wife and I was on the way to Toyosu on a Sunday and transferred at Hibiya Station in the Yurakucho Subway. We found that many DVD of movies were on sale at a small shop beside of the tickets vending machine. My wife had a curiosity on these DVDs and stopped. Well, most of them were old good movies, such as the Third man, Holiday in Rome, and so on. I am surprised to see the cheap price, only 500 yen. She had started to select which DVD she would buy. All of them were opened to public more then 50 years ago. So thinking our age of less than 60 years old, there should be no chance for us to watch them. However we have already seen all of them, which had enough reasons. When our children were between 11 to 14 years-old, we let them to watch these old but good 100 movies for the purpose of their education. My wife recorded these movies by VHS video tape. It took a few years for her to collect these famous good movies. Then one by one she let them watch, when they were free in summer and winter vacation. I think that the present Hollywood movies are too artificial and no heart. Let say, in the case of Steven Spielberg's works are only bring scary to audiences and no warm hearted lessons. They are made by computer graphic and that's all. It is Jurassic Park. I believe that these kinds of movies are just like as computer games and no heartfelt impact on our human beings. To the contrary, these old famous movies are the human drama that makes various people impress pathos, poverty, sadness, the joke, and love. My wife and I hoped our children to feel such feelings as human beings. In a sense, these feelings are more important than knowledge. This is the intellectual development, we believed. This education might be successful after they have grown up. Our daughter had a profession of surgeon. She has enough philanthropy spirit. Our son, who is going to be a lawyer, can understand people's heart. However I can understand that we have the difference of the taste of each movie, actors and actresses. For example, I like C. Deneuve and J. Roberts as the actresses. However she doesn't like them. Instead, she likes Jack Lemmon's atmosphere. But I don't like him. I like the movie "Stand by Me".
