The Metropolitan Museum of Art |
This is my most favorite museum in New York. Every time when
I have been to New York, I spend my time to go and look around this museum more
than a half day. If it counts, in fact, it will still have carried out only 3
times. But in my mind, as the impact of this museum is so strong that I
naturally mistake that I visit there so many times.
I think that the level
of museum of each country will depend upon each country's power and rich. This
museum is enough reflect U.S. wealth and power as a leading country. But even so
this saying true, still I am so impressed by the collecting power. For example,
the pots of the Greece era, they are exhibited in so many big rooms and maybe
there much more pots in the store rooms. Their skill of exhibition is very
good, easy to see and historically understandable, moreover, very attractive.
These skills are used in their homepage, which is also very intelligible. I am
sure that it does not make us boring. |

The Smithsonian |
It was about 20 years ago when I went to Washington, D.C. for
the first time. At that time, I stayed at a hotel, near to the Capitol Hill. I
sometimes went to the Smithsonian Museum, when I could spare time. I am fond of
science and the machine, so I was very impressed by the Apollo's spacecraft, the
zero fighter and so on. Also I was very much surprised to see the high quality
of the collection and the numerous numbers of quantities in every field. This is
the place for us to have the heart of the dream, hope, and science in character
with the United States. |

The Louvre Museum |
Every thing is so expensive to stay in the center of Paris.
However because this museum id located in the heart of the city, I feel it is
inevitable to stay in Paris. Even if I have visited there so many times, I never
feel boring to look around in this museum. I thought I have already known most
of their exhibition, however there are still many things in their homepage which
I missed to see. |
|
The British Museum |
Every time when I visit London, I always go to this museum by
subway. Once we enter here, it will be quite difficult for us to go out soon.
Although there is no more the glorious English Empire, it left this historical
inheritance. This homepage is also very legible and it is easy to look for some
exhibition. |
|
Deutsches Museum |
It is a profound museum in Munich. When I visited this
museum, I found that there so many machines were displayed here and there. For
example, the serious of displayed airplanes begin from a double leaf machine.
Well, this is truly Germany. The homepage is too formal. |
|
The State Hermitage Museum |
Although I have not visited this museum before, I happened to
find this homepage. So for I mentioned about museums in U.S., U. K., French and
Germany, it was good for me to find this museum. IBM seems to support this
homepage. No wonder why this homepage is cultivated. |
|
Tokyo National Museum |
The "recommended 20 arts" is a good and kind idea of this homepage,
however I can find nothing special. As I stay near to this museum so I
sometimes visit there. But I purposely go to the special exhibition. I
seldom visit the ordinary exhibition section. As recently they changed
their organization from the branch of the ministry of Education to an independent
administrative agency, so I hope they will do their best effort to attract
more people. |
|
Nara National Museum |
They also have the "recommendation of 162 arts" in their homepage.
But it is more or less the same unattractive idea as the Tokyo National
Museum. |
|
National Museum of Western Arts |
Their main exhibition is coming from so-called Matsukata collection. Unfortunately this homepage is no good. For example, they have no thumbnail to show the arts easier for visitors. Their skills or technology of home page is far behind of foreign museums of other advanced countries. |

Japanese Museums |
This is the Yellowpage of Japanese Museums. |
