The hydrangeas of Toshimaen Park

I heard that the hydrangea festival was held at the Toshimaen Playground. On a Saturday I went there by the Ooedo subway line. At the entrance, they discounted the entrance-fee to the 40 years-old customers like me. They displayed 8,500 hydrangeas of 140 species. They were so colorful, blue, pinkish, purple, and white and so on. Some of their shapes were like big balls; others had small flowers in the center and big flowers at the surrounding. If the soil was acid, the color of the hydrangea would become blue. If the soil is alkaloid, the color would become pinkish.
